'The Rhetorical Primary: Poetry V. Prose' Lecture. University of New Hampshire professor Jennifer Borda is presenting the lecture "The Rhetorical Primary: Poetry v. Prose" at 8:30 p.m. in the Conservatory of The Mount Washington Hotel. For more information call 278-3305.

Remick Workshop At Cranmore. Come to the Cranmore Mountain Lodge for an Open House program with staff from the Remick Country Doctor Museum and Farm from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy making your own homemade sausage. Learn how to grind and season the meat, to stuffing the casings. Make your own corn husk doll by learning to fold the wet corn husks into a miniature person. Use yarn to make hair and accessories. The fee for each program is $5 per person; one dollar from the fee will be donated to the Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mount Washington Valley Hospitality Scholarship Fund. 'I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change'. The Barnstormers Theatre in Tamworth presents the smash hit musical "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" at 8 p.m. "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" includes everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit. 'Baby'. The Mount Washington Valley Theatre Company is presenting the musical "Baby" at the Eastern Slope Playhouse at 8 p.m. If you’ve ever had a baby, loved a baby, or been a baby, this charming modern tale of three couples at different stages of life facing parenthood is for you. Choral Singing Workshop. The World Fellowship Center in Conway is presenting a choral singing workshop with Bev Grant, founder and director of the Brooklyn Women's Chorus. Come raise your voice in harmony. There will be additional vocal workshops with Jon Arterton, founder and vocal arranger of The Flirtations, creator with James Mack of "Just Married!" (The Musical).This safe gentle workshop will be fun for experienced and novice singers alike. All choruses, singing levels and genders welcome. Pre registration required. Fee: $75. Young Adult Book Group Meeting. The Conway Public Library’s young adult book group meets today at 3:30 p.m. for refreshments and a discussion of "Marley" by Tom Grogan. Grades six and older are welcome. For more information call 447-5552.

The Half Moon Jug Band. The Half Moon Jug Band presents one of their unforgettable evenings at the Brick Church for the Performing Arts on Christian Hill Road, just off Route 5 in Lovell, Maine at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and cost $10 for adults, $5 for children and $25 for families. Upper Saco Valley Land Trust Fund-raiser. Come out for pizza and support the Upper Saco Valley Land Trust at The Flatbread Company located in the Eastern Slope Inn on Main Street in North Conway from 4 p.m. to closing. A portion of each flatbread pizza sold will support the work of Upper Saco Valley Land Trust.

Candidate Forum. A dinner/social hour will start at 6 p.m. at the Shovel Handle Pub at Whitney’s Inn in Jackson at 357 Black Mountain Road in Jackson followed by a brief meeting and opportunity to hear our District 1 representatives give an overview of the accomplishments of the recent legislative session and the challenges ahead. Hear from candidates in the Contested Democratic Primary Election for County Commissioner. Following this, there will be a viewing of the live program from Denver and the Democratic National Convention to watch Barack Obama accept the nomination.
